Nature is our environment
We believe that the time for being and the place for doing deserve respect, which is why we minimise our interventions and environmental impact.
We support development that enhances the strengths already present in the environment, in society and in people: authentic energies capable of growing in a natural, vibrant, flourishing way.
The open air is our lifeblood: it has always fuelled our vision and reminds us that Nature must be listened to, protected and given space to breathe. Because when Nature breathes,
it merges with our breath. Only when we leave space for Nature can we find space to
welcome guests and be welcomed.

Our projects
Nature Hub
A space that gives space back to Nature, creating a world to be explored, learnt about and appreciated. That is the role of our Villages’ Nature Hubs. These interactive educational areas are focused on the environment and biodiversity, offering experiences for our guests and local residents.
As always, many of our activities are specifically designed for children: from planting trees with local schools to more immersive and engaging experiences, such as the educational garden for growing indigenous plants, the apiary, the sensory garden and the bug hotel, as well as events to encourage recycling and explain the importance of compost.
This important initiative confirms our desire to develop positive synergies in the areas where we are based, to foster well-being, cultivate environmental awareness and work hand-in-hand with local communities on development projects.
Treedom
Development can and must be sustainable and responsible. That is why we have partnered with Treedom, the first website that allows users to plant trees remotely and track their growth and impact online. Since 2010, Treedom has planted over 4 million trees in Africa, Latin America, Asia and Italy, directly involving local communities in caring for the trees.
The partnership between Treedom and Human Company has led to the creation of the hu openair Forest. This project involves all the Group’s sites and allows guests to actively participate by planting a tree via the Treedom platform. A simple yet powerful action that strengthens our commitment to sharing a common, active, conscious culture of sustainability, which has seen significant results: over 1300 new trees have been planted, financed by our direct contribution. Alongside this, we have given our guests a special-edition tree – a concrete symbol of their involvement in growing hu openair Forest.
We have always worked to build a sustainable future, starting from what takes root. Through our links with the local area, listening to communities and long-term actions, by working with Treedom, we want to promote a model of conscious and regenerative tourism that combines environmental responsibility with awareness of the social context.

People
are our strength.
Whether guests or employees, we believe that people are our most valuable resource.

Local communities
are our roots.
Our connection with the local area is a key aspect of our identity, preserving and promoting it and raising awareness of its highlights.
