Located in Figline e Incisa Valdarno, Palagina is a historical estate overlooking the Chianti hills and immersed in over 100 hectares of vineyards, olive groves and woods: a place steeped in nature, learning and local heritage. On Saturday 4 October, the site was proud to inaugurate "borgo agricolo": a new area that is sure to enrich the current accommodation, which consists of a residence dating back to the 15th century, a farmhouse (the "cascina"), three flats (the Belvedere farmhouse, the fruit house and the Margherita villa), a honey room and an educational farm. The event was attended by the company's management, along with representatives of local and regional institutions and the University of Florence; the ribbon-cutting ceremony was accompanied by basket-weaving workshops, honey tastings, planting and pumpkin carving.

In addition to experiencing the themed accommodation, guests can participate in workshops and educational activities in close contact with nature, guided by local artisans and farmers: from tending the vegetable garden to meeting the bees, through to bottling and labelling wine and oil; furthermore, seasonal themed events are organised each month, inspired by rural life.

Sergio Redaelli, CEO of Crippaconcept

"Palagina is the pinnacle of open-air hospitality, where sustainability, architecture, and nature come together to create a welcoming and conscientious setting. The mobile homes designed for Palagina are part of an ecosystem that prioritises land, knowledge and memory, bringing the area into the future."

Professor Silvio Menghini PhD, Department of Agriculture, Food, Environment and Forestry (DAGRI) at the University of Florence.

"The University of Florence oversaw the design of the agricultural element of the agri-campsite, allowing Palagina guests to experience a stay in direct contact with agricultural work and to enjoy its fruits. In the agricultural village, they are not mere spectators, but active participants. This immersive experience is not only elevating the quality of the company's facilities, but also helping to raise awareness of the social and environmental values embodied by local farming traditions, while simultaneously enhancing and promoting the region."
